John A. Call is an author, a forensic psychologist, and an attorney.
Some thoughts about me: I spend most of my time traveling and writing. When I travel, I live for a while in each country I visit. When, and as I write, I perform research--intelligence gathering as it were. I obtain data from publications and from people and from the things around them, something I learned from my career as a forensic psychologist. The libraries of Paris, London, and Dublin are three of my favorite locations for this investigative search. (I highly recommend the restaurant located in the British Library.)
Likewise, the mountains of Chile, the high desert outside Taos, and islands off the west coast of Ireland, amongst other locales, have also produced important evidentiary finds and strange but relevant insights. And, finally, of course, are the people I meet and talk with on my wanderings, their stories are, similarly, important elements in my exploration.
My motivation is simple: I am an old-fashioned story-teller. I put words on paper so that those who read them might also find themselves traveling in an unfamiliar land, and, hopefully, discover that their journey has been both diverting, entertaining, and, maybe, thought-provoking.
